India is obviously a bigger market. It is an opportunity for Pakistani manufacturers to exploit it as well. However, since India IS a big market, their manufacturers already face a good competition, hence their products are much affordable and better in quality (as Faisal pointed out). Price difference and quality are the only two factors that will change Pakistani consumer’s (like Irem) mindset. :-p
Pakistani molvies don’t encourage renting Indian movies..talk about buying products. Even here when I go to the local grocery shop I buy Pakistani stuff, even though Indian products are sitting right next to Pakistani. I buy Indian Basmati rice though :-D It is going to be an interesting shift. It will definitely bring the two countries closer, however the overall deal sounds more in favour of India and a wake up call for Pakistani manufacturers.

that it will lead to better and cheaper products and foster healthy competition and atleast we won’t be forced to buy those do-numbri products that our pakistani manufacturers are selling us 
Faisal bhai u r right, pakistanis will also be selling their stuff in india…cool…hmmm…but can u imagine going to ur neighborhood shop in clifton and seeing “indian” products on the shelves with pics of bhagwaan and hindu writing on them

OMG how could u be such a traitor!!! i used to buy pakistani rice in amreeka which was more expensive than indian one jus coz it was paki rice!!! tho i used to live with indians for some months and they were my very good friends and excellent ppl and they would buy indian rice and i would eat it (they were kind enough to give it to me) but if u have to buy from the store u shud buy pakistani rice!!!
yeah when it comes to indian beauty products and clothes i am willing to make an exception to this policy

irem think abt this.. u are trying to project urself as a true pakistani.. alright, tell me something - can u differentiate the air your breathe as indian or pakistani? do your nostrils have special filters that stop air molecules from across your side of the wagah? can u guess if the fish caught in karachi is from bombay or goa? can u check if the water in your very own indus is 100% pakistani? when will you grow up? by you i mean people like you who are intelligent educated people that are blinded by misdirected religious frenzy. if u can answer my questions convincingly i will accept your argument that pakistan should not conduct trade with india.

but things like indian media, indian products...those can be kept out :p
indian products, sure, if they r really going to be good for the pakistani poor ppl, i am ok with that
but indian media is one thing i totally dont like....a lot of it is dirty and not a good influence on our young generation (but thats the topic for another thread i guess)

achcha irem dear dont give me the idea that the kids in pakistan are all lollypop-suckers (ok no pun here) and never exposed to mature stuff, unless its indian. sharm-o-haya chhorke bol raha hoon, i have downloaded a lot of soft p0rn stuff MADE in pakistan and claimed to be widel circulated in pakistan. if there is anything immoral, it is already there in your society. lahore (i'll always laugh at the pun in that name) has a huge r**di-khana called heera mandi popularized by the mughals themselves. so this high-priestess talk of india polluting your noujawans is utter bs. sadiyon se appke yahan yeh sab hotey aa raha hai phir yeh sharafat ka naqab kyun??

yes a lot happens in pakistan but normal kids in households dont get exposed to it. but with indian TV coming directly to our houses, we r corrupting the minds of the small kids who watch TV.
u have a right to do what u wana do, no one is stopping u. but we also have a right to protect our younger generation from things we don't consider right and ask our govt to stop this influence in our society :p

Being flooded with cheap indian things isn’t going to change anything at all, because right now Pakistan is flooded with cheap chinese things anyway.
If anything, Pakistani consumers will now be able to choose between cheap chinese things, and cheap Indian things.

but u havent said anything against the mega-billion rupee softcore industry in pak (something that is homegrown). first ask the govt to shut that down first. waesay u shd also deport the likes of nida choudhry and anjuman bibi to timbuctoo where they’d feel more at home (nangay logon ke saath nagay rahenge :D)

Dress like a guy and go to Rainbow centre in Karachi. It’s the only place in the world where I’ve been followed out from a mall to the car by people trying to sell me porn films.
One guy gave me his business card and assured me that if I ever wanted porn, I should go to only him as he had the finest porno in Karachi
