May be your guilt is your salvation? Guilt prevents recurrence and increases sincerity for forgiveness.
I would sooner live with guilt than delude myself that it don’t matter. Remember do a sin once you feel guilt, the way to overcome your guilt is to do that sin over and over again until it is no big deal. I don’t think that is what you want.
