How long does it take for you to get over your guilt?.. I am sure you feel apologetic, dismal or even disgusted with your self.. but how do you even catogrize the depth of your gluttony?.. If you miss your prayers, do you feel as guilty as if you hav not fullfil your promises to someone… How do you individuate that?
Re: Conscience-stricken
see that depends on individual to individual and the severity of guilt....if i feel guilty about anything then i have to do something to get over it like maafi, deciding within myself that i would not do it again etc etc....otherwise guilt doesnt go away and creates a very weird kind of beychaini which i hate the most....for instance..when i feel guilty about not saying my prayers then to overcome the guilt ..the first thing i do is to decide with determination that i would not miss my prayers and make every effort to make sure i follow what i have decided... it's been three days since i am missing my fajar prayers...and usually i dont need alarm to get up because i wake up when i hear azan....but for three days this is not happening so today i'll set an alarm and wake up for fajar and qaza namaz inshAllah ....because i need to have that connection with HIM which is very easy to build in early morning with less invasion of random thoughts..
Re: Conscience-stricken
So to get over your guilt, you ask for the maafi.. okay, that's fine but I think asking for maafi is only due when someone is hurt by your action.. but for example you didn't workout today, you still feel guilty.. does that guilt same as cheating on your spouses?... So literally, maafi doesn't cut it.. or does it and I'm back to my question as to how do you individuate that !!<O:p</O:p
ofcourse missing work out’s guilt cannot be equated with hurting someone’s guilt…as the severity would be different…and it could also be dependent upon the fact that how important the matter of guilt is to you…and this is not an answer to your question so ya back to square one…find out the answer and do post it here ![]()

May be your guilt is your salvation? Guilt prevents recurrence and increases sincerity for forgiveness.
I would sooner live with guilt than delude myself that it don't matter. Remember do a sin once you feel guilt, the way to overcome your guilt is to do that sin over and over again until it is no big deal. I don't think that is what you want.
Re: Conscience-stricken
^ hmm you make a very good point
Re: Conscience-stricken
Destiny dominates destination.....
Re: Conscience-stricken
the feeling of guilt is your concience telling you that youre wrong.....
so an apology to self by reading namaz or doing what ever you missed is required
and an apology to others is by realising you have wronged them and righting that wrong..
what say?
