You should read about consequentialism, the total result of your actions will determine the good and bad. You can feed a hungry mother of bear cub but that eventually will lead to her death or she getting close to humans and killing a human. So act of kindness but not so good on conscience. Same if your kindness promotes bad behavior then you have to ask yourself if that goodness and kindness be spent in a better place. Again my wife gets all emotional and does things for kids out of love but if they don’t become independent her actions would do harm.
