Conscience or Kind Heart

Hi guys!!! do conscience and kind heartedness differs? if yes then what do you think which makes a person good for others?? like helping, praying, no back biting, appreciating, always loving & friendly??

P.S: and even helping people out knowing that they will still back bite you and let no chance go of damaging your dignity/izzat/self respect, etc…

Yes, they are different. Conscience is related to something being morally right or wrong. Whereas being kind hearted means you are kind even when it won’t be morally wrong to be unkind.

But there is a fine line between being kind hearted and a doormat.

Just look at Prophet Mohammad’s (pbuh) character and you’ll know what makes a person good.

Yes, they are different. Conscience is related to something being morally right or wrong. Whereas being kind hearted means you are kind even when it won’t be morally wrong to be unkind.

But there is a fine line between being kind hearted and a doormat.

You should read about consequentialism, the total result of your actions will determine the good and bad. You can feed a hungry mother of bear cub but that eventually will lead to her death or she getting close to humans and killing a human. So act of kindness but not so good on conscience. Same if your kindness promotes bad behavior then you have to ask yourself if that goodness and kindness be spent in a better place. Again my wife gets all emotional and does things for kids out of love but if they don’t become independent her actions would do harm.

You can feed a hungry mother of bear cub but that eventually will lead to her death or she getting close to humans and killing a human. So act of kindness but not so good on conscience. I do think they go hand in hand. However, in society today it’s always a very thought out decision on whether or not we will be kindhearted to others. Usually, it’s the mindset of if I do this for you, what will you do for me.

yes it’s a mindset for most but still some people are genuinely kind-hearted withOUT any profit/give&take stuff… they only care about their peace of mind…
