^ yes it is sad indeed in the pious caliphate people were encouraged to accept islam …in later dynasties conversions were discouraged as that would mean less taxes to Bayt-ul -Mal …gone were the days when the caliph himself has to be accountable to the public for every penny …bayt ul mal now was essentially the kings treasury which he could spend as he pleased…sad part is that muslims tosay think of this as the "golden age of islam "

the humility of the early caliphs was replaced by arrogance in the later ones
