Re: Conquest of India Prior to the Day of Judgement
^ you hit the nail right on the head ,
but I would disagree to a certain extent I think offensive wars are allowed in Islam but it really depends on who is leading them and what they seek to achieve.
so if they are good practicising muslims ,sincere in spreading the faith [encouraging conversion], distributing wealth like in the times of RasoolAllah(SAW) and keeping minorities in their place, then they should be valid as this also happened in the time of RaulAllah[pbuh]
Clearly these dynasties were far from this example
however it should be kept in mind that many soldiers of the rank and file genuinely participated in wars out of religious zeal and the rulers were great in manipulating that for their own purposes and posing as "defenders of the faith " the religious clergy of the time gave them their blessing as well [either by bribery or simply intimidation]
Also many pious individuals tired of living under the repressive rule of these kings went to the Warfront to die a honorable death.
muslim historians have not spared hajjaj from any condemnation either
it is only our homegrown desi "experts" who cook up such stories to fool the ignorant masses. What these so-called followers of sahaba conveniantly forget is that hajjaj is the one who crucified and left the corpse of abdullah b zubair[a sahabi] on the gallows
and regarding his "respect for muslim women" we can refer to his
conversation with the mother of ibn zubair daughter of Abu Bakr[ra]
