I’m having problems trying to connect my Samsung galaxy ph to my tv..I have the mhl adapter as well as hdmi cable..I have tried changing both of these but none of them r working. .is there any settings in the ph which have to be adjusted?
Re: Connecting Samsung galaxy note 2..
I say get chromecast. Makes it much easier connecting the phone to the TV.
Re: Connecting Samsung galaxy note 2..
What I’ve read regarding MHL adapters, especially w/ Samsung phones, is if the adapter is just a generic/ other company, it doesn’t always work. You could try getting an “official” samsung adapter. But I agree w/ @us1415, chromecast is totally worth it! It works with any android device over wifi. :k:
Re: Connecting Samsung galaxy note 2..
There are different MHL specifications and Adapters (MHL 1, 2 and 3), you might be using the wrong one for your phone, the S3 had MHL1 but they changed to MHL 2 for Note 2. Yes, Chromecast is much better option (you cant cast your whole screen unless you are on Android 4.4 KitKat or later, but you can cast from Youtube and other media apps)

Not sure what you are asking. Are you asking about how would you update your phone or something else?

Re: Connecting Samsung galaxy note 2..
You don't have to upgrade your Android version to get MHL working, Android 4.1 supports MHL and there are no additional settings to change on your phone side. However, MHL adapters needs power to work, you need to connect a power source (your phone charger) to the MHL adapter, if it still doesn't works check the MHL version of your phone and Adapter and also try a different HDMI port on your TV.
To upgrade your Phone's Android version (its always recommended to run the newest version of software on your smart devices), connect to a good WiFi source (the update is going to be big, if you have unlimited data, you can do it on your data package too) click Settings->About Phone->System Update ->Check for Update ->Download and install. If you want to do this from a computer, get Samsung KIES (Software to manage your smartphone) and connect your phone to the computer, Kies will prompt you to download and install the latest firmware for your phone.
