A group of US congressmen is holding a hearing into a leaked UK memo which suggests President Bush had decided on war with Iraq eight months in advance.
More than 100 Democrats will take part in the public forum, calling for a White House explanation of the memo.
The BBC’s James Coomarasamy in Washington says although the hearing is unofficial, it coincides with waning public support for US efforts in Iraq.
Re: Congressmen probe Iraq war memo
D'oh!
Dems are so dumb. I mean didn't the increased military deployment in the gulf area 6-8 months before war signaled that we are ON for WAR? They needed a memo from England to investigate?
Re: Congressmen probe Iraq war memo
The only one who was suprised that there was a war was Saddam. But, wasn't it Clinton who made "regime change" in Iraq official US policy?
Re: Congressmen probe Iraq war memo
If Bush decided to go to war with Iraq 8 months in advance then he should be impeached, no question.
