Congressional Elections

I am so happy we’re almost done and over with the elections. Don’t get me wrong, I think voting is a great process - power to the people.

I’m just so sick of all the mudslinging and the slander that’s been going on. It’s one thing if you’re a politician and you’re proposing your stance on an issue…but what is UP with these lunatics that are making these offensive commercials specifically targetting their opponent? The only thing that I can think of is that they have nothing good to say about themselves, so they go forth and start making offensive commercials to put down their opponent.

I think the commonpeople should actually be insulted by these commercials, because they treat us as if we’re total idiots. I saw this one campaign commercial the other day stating that so-and-so was being supported by the Republican party and OOO they’re CONSERVATIVES…very very bad! Well, DUH if so-and-so IS a freakin’ republican, ofcourse they’re gonna be supported by the Republican party. :aj:

And then there’s the posters and signs up all down the road with their last name written in big block letters just in case a few retards out there remember the name as they’re voting and just randomly choose that politician (not to mention a phony picture with the politician beaming a cheesy smile).
Anyways, the question here would be…after seeing such desperation from these campaign posters, does the voter have any desire to vote for that candidate?

And finally, the calls. :bummer: Okay I can understand the calls that are asking you who you are most likely to vote for…these are just so they can get a rough estimate in the polls to see how each candidate is doing. But is it really necessary for people to call up and ask “Can WE count on YOUR vote? :phati:” I mean, what if I was to say, “No, I’ll be voting for your opponent.” Such calls are completely pointless and nobody gets anything out of them. In fact, if anything, people will feel inclined to NOT vote for whoever it is that’s calling them 20 times a day asking for their vote.

Ahem Okay I’m done. Just wanted to let you all know that us kids have opinions too, yea.

LOL. Right :chai:

Re: Congressional Elections

You are right about the fact that since they have nothing good to say about themselves, they go out and find the negatives in their opponents.

I just know that the gas prices will go back up after the election no matter who wins. If the republicans win, they will raise the prices because they have lowered it just in time for election, now that the elections are over, they don’t need to control the prices anymore. If the democrats win, then the gas prices will still go up obviously because duh, the party in power lost.

It’s all politics moti, it’s all politics :phati:

Re: Congressional Elections

^ No duh.

Yea well screw the gas prices. This is why everyone should just ride their bicycles around yea :phati:.

I’m waiting until after the elections to invest my money in the stock market. Daddy said it’s wise to do that…something to do with how people aren’t sure what to do with their money just yet…so they wait until after the elections, so the stock market goes up then.

Re: Congressional Elections

No replacement for Gee Dubbya Bush until 2008 :frowning: just 2 more years, pal…2 more years… (well actually it’s almost only one left now! :phati: )

But right now they’re voting for the members of Congress as well as the representatives for the states (I think).

Re: Congressional Elections

Moti, gas price does matter to people like me and your dad who have to drive their car to work in order to earn money and run the house
