Congress and Pakistan

Re: Congress and Pakistan

vande mataram as a reason for partition is like saying a mosquito is a reason for making an atom bomb.

it is in sanskrit, and it is a song written in praise of the motherland. most indians don't even know the song.

religion is easy, one doesn't need to use a lot of logic to get followers. "muslim hai to muslim league mei aa" is mostly what did it. not jinnah, not iqbal.

Re: Congress and Pakistan

May be Vande Mataram was officially detested by Muslim league leaders. The leaders who might knew Hindi. If that was about shirk, Muslim leaders in congress like Molana Abul kalam Azad (who also wrote Tafseer e Quran) might have agitated against it.

Re: Congress and Pakistan

no :smack:

you mean to say, muslims were ok with it, n this is all story tht muslims were hurted for considering hindi as national language n there was no conflict.

Re: Congress and Pakistan

:hehe: and urdu and hindi are supposed to be mutually exclusive? about 80% of the vocab is shared.

Re: Congress and Pakistan

But not singing a song makes a person less patriotic?

————————————
Translation by Sri Aurobindo Ghosh
————————————
Mother, I bow to thee!
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
bright with orchard gleams,
Cool with thy winds of delight,
Dark fields waving Mother of might,
Mother free.
Glory of moonlight dreams,
Over thy branches and lordly streams,
Clad in thy blossoming trees,
Mother, giver of ease
Laughing low and sweet!
Mother I kiss thy feet,
Speaker sweet and low!
Mother, to thee I bow.
Who hath said thou art weak in thy lands
When the sword flesh out in the seventy million hands
And seventy million voices roar
Thy dreadful name from shore to shore?
With many strengths who art mighty and stored,
To thee I call Mother and Lord!
Though who savest, arise and save!
To her I cry who ever her foeman drove
Back from plain and Sea
And shook herself free.

Re: Congress and Pakistan

and lot of hindi speaking peoples do not distinguish between Jalil and Zalil:hehe:

Re: Congress and Pakistan

these small small issues were showing muslims n hindus cant live togather, many muslim leaders were part of congress. but yes religion really divided ppl of sub continent

Re: Congress and Pakistan

Its just not Hindi that was detested in Pakistan. Many local languages also faced mortal blow :bummer:

I 100% agree that Language is not connected to religion

Re: Congress and Pakistan

haha.. yeh hindi walay, especially the eastern dialects have no idea of what to do with their Zs. but there are lots of pakistanis in the same boat outside of the big cities.

Re: Congress and Pakistan

Religion itself not divided people. people were living in harmony for centuries. It was using religion as a tool which divided people.

Re: Congress and Pakistan

imho, this is a very shortsighted point of view. brits used divide and rule profusely, but to completely give in to this, and not even remember anything from before their colonization - is a big shame.

what if tomorrow someone comes and says ahmedis (who supported pakistan) and the rest of pakistanis can't live together, will you give them a new country?

Re: Congress and Pakistan

DA i live in india......

Follower of both the religion have very good personal relations with follower of other religion...

But when they think about other follower of rival religion as a group they can not stop hating each other...:D

Re: Congress and Pakistan

What do you mean by not singing a song makes a person less patriotic?

Re: Congress and Pakistan

exactly i mean to say this, ppl were actually creating issues using different methods like hindus were against slaughter of cow n muslims were not ready to accept bande matarm

Re: Congress and Pakistan

ninja i m not talking about present day, its about 1947

Re: Congress and Pakistan

That was a question bro....

lot of person who sang Vande Mataram never hesitated to rob mother land of its honor....

Re: Congress and Pakistan

ok so wht you think partition, why partition happened, if these points are to be over looked :hmmm:

thn y muslims n hindus wanted live separate, why were they not ready to share the country

Re: Congress and Pakistan

one word - paranoia.

Re: Congress and Pakistan

thats just a song written by a human. How about people writing 'haza min fazl e Rabbi - This is from my Lord' on the buildings made from black money?

Re: Congress and Pakistan

no difference Da...

We still have Hindu-Muslim riots......thousands of riot every year....
