Re: Congratulating/Celebrating Non-Muslim/holidays In Islam?
Peace,
Any1 interested in this discussion? :)
Re: Congratulating/Celebrating Non-Muslim/holidays In Islam?
Walaikum salaam!
Very interested, but the views differ across spectrum of different schools of thought. Some scholars say it is not wrong to wish someone so long as it does not conflict with the foundation of Tawheed. Others say to avoid it altogether because you risk indulging in what is not founded in Islam.
Sorry akhi. I have no solid views on this. Personally, I wish non-muslims on their holidays, but I keep my greeting broad such as Happy Holidays, etc.
Re: Congratulating/Celebrating Non-Muslim/holidays In Islam?
Avoid it. Christmas etc celebrates shirk, so don't congratulate anyone on disobeying allah.
Re: Congratulating/Celebrating Non-Muslim/holidays In Islam?
Congratulate others, fine.
Celebrate with them, no thanks.
Re: Congratulating/Celebrating Non-Muslim/holidays In Islam?
Do not, yes do not wish them happy christmas, but please do take advantage of pre and post christmas sale. That is not shirk (apparanetly).
Re: Congratulating/Celebrating Non-Muslim/holidays In Islam?
^ about christmas sales, atleast they have the decency to make their joyous event affordable for everyone unlike ramzan and eid where prices are jacked up so high that a joyous occasion becomes very harsh on an average folk.
