Confusion!

Sometime back I posted the benefits of reciting the durood Sharif..(which none of the people actually read) but there was one point in that which said the if a person recites the durood sharif a lot there would be a mansion of gold/jewels reserved for him in the heaven. There was another point which said that the person who recites the durood a lot would only die when he/she would see his place confirmed in the heaven for him/herself.

My first question is that even if one does get a mansion/ place in the heaven for him/herself (since it is also mentioned in the quran that angels recite duas for you if you send durood upon the prophet Mohammad S.A.W)..But don’t you think that it’s a right for every person to get rewards/punishments for their good/ bad deeds?
Secondly, isn’t our time, date, reason, way etc of death is already decided/written in the books of Allah (even before we are born?). Or does it all change when we recite the durood sharif?

Re: Confusion!

When it comes to religion :S i just want to have the correct information...so any answer? etc etc..

Re: Confusion!

Peace teelobhain

I will post the reference for you soon inshaAllah. However your confusion should not be so. Qadr (Predestination) should be viewed in context to the power of du'a. Du'a itself is a method for changing or actualising ones Destiny. Destiny should be viewed as potential and the du'a is the seeking of Tawfiq in that potential.

As for the Durood Sharif it is indeed a du'a but your question is misled in that you assume it only to be Durood Sharif that changes Qadr. The answer is yes, but in fact it is every du'a performed correctly that has the same effect. Durood Sharif does not have a special function in this respect.

Re: Confusion!

^ I know that each and every word in the Quran has power and a meaning in it...and whatever/ whichever part we read especially with honesty and heart it can do wonders to us. But still i just wanted to know if i am 100% right or wrong..regarding durud sharif - I never said its only a durud sharif who can solve problems and the rest of the duas aren't as effective etc

Re: Confusion!

Reciting Darood or Quran is not by any mean garaantee to go to Heavens, nor having mansion/palace their. Islam is not like other religions where saying the sacred words at certain time and style will get us through the heaven doors.

Islam is practical religion, every act (good or bad) counts, Allah Subhan.o.tala says that, every person will be accountable for his deeds. and based on those deeds we will be sent to Heavens or Hell.

bottomline is
the reciting of darood and Quran will only add value if the act/deed is in line with the teaching of Quran. The palaces and mansions cannot be build by some magic words in this world nor they can be built in the other. One have to work hard to get one.

I'm not in a position to ratify what you are saying. As far as I understand doing duroos sharif before and after du'a is an adab. I'm taking the next bit from Chapter 14 of Sh. Yadir Qadhi's book Du'a The Weapon of the Believer. The section title is Du'a and its relationship with Destiny.

... Many people ask: "If everything has already been destined to occur, then of what use is du'a, as, if Allah has written what I want, I will get it without making du'a, and if it is not written for me, then I will never get it no matter how much du'a I make?"

The response to this question ... In other words, it has already been decreed, for example, that a seed will give fruit if planted, but this will not occur unless the farmer takes the appropriate efforts in irrigating the crop, maintaining it, protecting the seedling as it grows, and ensuring as much as he can that the factors are amenable for the plant to give fruit.

So even if a person believes in the Divine Decree, he must at the same time strive all he can to ensure that the desired goal occurs.

....

"Nothing increases one's life-span expect good deeds, and nothing repels Divine Decree except du'a. And verily, a person may be deprived of sustenance due to a sin that he does!"

Narrated by Ibn Majah #90 and Shaykh al-Albani said in Sahih Ibn Majah "It is authentic without the addition, 'And verily ...';

Durood Sharif is always accepted. What is Durood? It is the sending of blessings unto our dear Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The fact that this is accepted means that blessings are sent to Muhammad (SAW).

I have not heard about Durood Sharif to be a method of getting gold or a mansion in Paradise. Remember the primary purpose of sending durood is for Muhammad (SAW) to show that we appreciate his sadaqah of his time on Earth that we respect him and honor him. Doing Durood for selfish reasons defeats the purpose of Durood, which is the sending of blessings.

Again I cannot say if you are 100% right or wrong seeing that you are confused I don't understand why you want assurance rather you should be looking for clarfication.

Re: Confusion!

And again i did not say that reciting the durood is a direct ticket to the heaven, i wanted to confirm that Allah has given such high rank to reciting the durood. For now i just want to highlight the durood...rather then other things like doing good deeds, praying (5 pillars) etc.

Re: Confusion!

Oh your reply has given me all my answers for now (i.e. i am satisfied) if i have something to ask which suddenly pops up in my head i will ask again.
I didnt want to actually sound like i was being selfish or anything, its just that some sites have all this so i was wondering if death is fixed then how come it is said it can get delayed by reciting the durood - Allah knows best and he probably know what to do with different people and he surely doesnt ignore anyones duas and prayers so he can just fill up one place rather then the other according to his will..but this was a bit to much for me to digest..thats why i just had to ask.

Re: Confusion!

This is a special act because the servant is lucky to participate in an act in which his master also takes part. There are many virtues to sending peace and blessings upon the Holy Prophet ***

***. In a part of a hadith narrated by Hazrat Anas

the Holy Prophet ***

*** has stated that whoever sends durood on me, Allah will send ten mercies on him, forgive ten of his sins and raise his status by ten stages. It is also related by Hazrat Abbas ibn Masood, the Prophet ***

*** said, “Verily, the closest person to me on the Day of Judgement will be the one who sends the most salutations on me”. The Prophet ***

*** also states that, “To send salutations on me will be heavenly light in the darkness of the ‘Pul Siraat’ (a bridge over which everyone will have to cross) on the day of resurrection”. The Prophet ***

*** also said, “Whoever sends a lot of salutations on me, he will be under the shade of the thrown of Allah”.
How long does it take to send Durood upon Holy Prophet ***

***? When his name is mentioned, it can take less than a second to fulfill this order, and also in doing so, a person’s sins are forgiven, he gains merits, his status is elevated and he also has a peaceful thought in his mind that he has just done something which Allah and his angels also do.
Bear in mind, that we are not only restricted to sending Durood upon the Holy Prophet ***

*** when his name is mentioned, but it is emphasised that we voluntarily send Durood as it increases a persons love for the Messenger of Allah. As the Hadith contains, “A person is not a (complete) believer until he loves me more than his parents, his children and all people”. A person will be with whom he loves the most and what better to love, and to be with, on the Day of Judgement than the intercessor himself. It is related by Hazrat Abu Dardaa

that the Holy Prophet ***

*** said that, “Whoever sends Durood upon me in the morning and in the evening ten ten times, on the day of judgement my intercession will surely reach him". There are however times when it is undesirable (‘makrooh’) to send Darood. This includes :

  1. During intercourse. 2. Whilst retrieving one-self from the call of nature.
  2. For advertising the sale of product. 4. Whilst stumbling. 5. During astonishment. 6. Whilst slaughtering an animal. 7. Whilst sneezing.
Referring back to the first hadeeth, when a person does not send durood upon the Prophet ***

*** when his name is mentioned, then he has heavy consequences to face. He has the curse of the Angel Jibraeel, which is backed up by the acceptance of Allah’s messenger who agreed by saying Ameen. The person who does not send Durood upon the mentioning of the Prophet ***

*** is the greatest miser. It also comes in a Hadith that when a group of people leave a gathering in which Allah was not mentioned and Durood was not send upon the Prophet ***

***, that sitting will be cause of regret until the Day of Judgement. In another hadith it is said that when a group of people leave a gathering having not sent Durood upon the Prophet ***

***, then that gathering will be wabaal (calamity) on them on the day of resurrection. May Allah save us from this neglect.
It is also worthy to note that when in a gathering where the Prophet ***

*** may be mentioned a lot, according to Hazrat Thanwi (Rahima hulla) it is necessary upon the listener to give a reply everytime but that the first time is necessary and thereafter it is preferable. Regarding the time whilst offering Salaah, apart from the specified place of sending durood which is after the final ‘Tashahud’, it is makrooh to read it any where else.
Hazrat Thanwi writes in Zadus Saeed that when a person writes the name of the Prophet ***

***, he should write the Durood fully afterwards and use no abbreviations. Once a person out of stinginess continued in not writing it, this resulted in his hand rotting away. It is appropriate for the persons body and clothes to be clean and pure.
Some scholars have written that when the sending of durood is referring to it being sent by Allah it is taken in the meaning of Allah presenting the place of Maqaame-Mahmud to the Holy Prophet ***

***. Maqaame-Mahmud is a special place close to Allah reserved for only that person when reffering to angels as sending Durood, what is meant here is that they pray to Allah for the rank of the Holy Prophet ***

*** to be evelated and that Holy Prophet ***

*** do sifaarish i.e ask forgiveness for the ummah. Finally the sending of Durood by the believers means the It’tiba, (following of Messenger of Allah ***

***) and the love we have for him.
It does’nt take much thinking to realise how much benefits there are in sending even one durood, just one durood gives a person ten rewards. Not only that but ten sins are also forgiven as well as his ranks being raised by ten more stages. Delving a little more into details will also make it apparent that every letter used to spell the salutation sent to Messenger of Allah ***

*** is worth ten rewards each, this is a bonus amount recieved.
The Day of Ressurrection will be a very hard and painful day for many. A day when Allah the All Mighty will be angry like never before. Everyone will be in need of the Prophet ***

***’s intercession. Through the Mercy of Allah, through his beloved Prophet ***

***, we have been informed of one sure fine way to gain that blessed intercession. The hadith narrated by Hazrat Abu Darda

in which he states, “The Messenger of Allah ***

*** has said ‘whosoever sends ten duroods upon me in the morning and ten duroods in the evening, my intercession will definitely reach him on Day of Judgement".
May Allah enable us to send abundant duroods upon the Holy Prophet ***

*** and may He save us from being neglectful of this faithful act. Ameen!
