confused!!!

ShaRaRa, these are the same kinds of thoughts I had/have!
What also bothers me is, that when I have big problems, I really start praying and reading Quran. But when I have 'good times' , I slowly stop praying on time, stuff like that. I also wondered if that would make one a munafiq, to kinda forget religion in good times, and run towards it when trouble comes.

One the one hand I agree, but on the other hand, if you have to earn money to live, you won't get it by just sitting on the couch and saying i know I have to work, to earn the money, but I can't/won't, that won't bring you the money, you would still have to get up and work. Same with religion, if you don't pray and try to live up as well as you can to your religious believe, you wouldn't earn the blessings either to go to heaven. I guess you have to do both? And have a good heart, treat others as you would want to be treated, but also live as much as you can according to your religious beliefs.

You know whether you are a good person and do the right things. I am of the belief that your closeness with god cannot come with what you wear and what you read and what you eat. This is one of the VERY few times I come to this forum!
Reason for that is that I too am utterly confused and coming to this forum confuses me even more.
Sharara,I can very much relate to everything that u wrote down, similar thoughts often cross my mind but I push them away. My journey to 'knowledge' on this matter has yet to start and I (still) don't think I'm ready for it sigh

Just wanna say that what u wrote made perfect sense to me and what matsui wrote I can very much relate to aswell. :)

There exists a Creator
The Quran is the word of the Creator
The quran was revealed to Muhammed(saw) through angel JIbreel
Heaven and Hell exist
there are believer and non belivers (there is no other category)

Those who do not follow the commands of the Creator(Allah), for them is hell and those believe and follow the commands of Allah for them inshallah heaven.
