There was a lady at my masjid who fixed my jilbab for me, so since i’m tired of getting something from pakistan that i don’t, I thought why not get something made here this eid, and so i asked this lady, and she was like sure, and then when I showed her what I wanted, she said she can’t do it…it was shalwar kameez, I asked why and she said that she can’t help me do wrong, I didn’t understand, and frankly was kind of pissed at her for refusing, but then later I asked my teacher, and she said that in Islam, women are supposed to wear clothing that is one piece, that under the jilbab, or in my house I can wear whatever, but when I go out, you have to wear a piece clothing, like a long dress, or a jilbab…meaning no shalwar kameez, or laagangaas and ghararaars
I explained to him the fact that we are still covered, but he repeated the same thing…so is this like true??? And if it is, why do pakistani women wear shalwar kameez??? Really confused…HELP!!!

you can wear any clothes that cover ALL of your body...it should NOT be tight so people cant see your body outline... do you get what im sayin? good.
The Islamic dress for the Muslim woman when she is out in public or at home meeting with men who are not mahram to her are five conditions: 1) To cover the entire body except the feet, hands & face. 2) To be loose as not to describe the body. 3) The fabric(s) should not be transparent that shows the body which is under it. 4) The cloths in general should be different from the cloths of men. 5) The cloths and ornaments should be reasonable similar to what the Muslim community is in agreement on, i.e. not lavish nor used uniquely by the non-Muslim women. The many Ahadith & Ayaat from which the majority of the Fuqaha' concluded this criteria are found in the fourth volume of the books of ''Freeing women in the age of the Message.'' By Abdul Halim Abu Shaqqah. Thank you, Assalamu Alaikum.
Masoom bhai, your fourth reason is that girls should not wear things that resemble men’s clothing, but shalwar kameez do, they are just like guys clothing. And the thing that Saudi guys wear that long kameez kind of thing, and shalwaar, isn’t it the same thing??? When it says that girls can’t wear cloths like guys, most of us take it as like, we aren’t supposed to shop at sections from guys clothes. Cause like jeans are worn by girls, and now they are not just considered guys clothing, lakin like my teacher said that one peice clothing is considered girls clothing, and two piece stuff is for guys…so tell me!!! Doesn’t that mean no shalwar kameez??? No laahangaas???
