Ok I just went to the gym today and spent 1 1/2 hours there… 45 minutes on the treadmill and it read 2.8 miles and 450 calories burned. Does that make sense? Is it too little in proportion to the amount of time I spent on it?
Oh and when I came home I had keema aloo with roti and two pieces of bread. So all that exercise was for nothing, right?
as angeleyes said... we cant really tell since we dont know how fast you were goin on treadmill...
Another possibility could be that the readings on treadmill maybe inaccurate. Beside treadmilling, you also spent about 45 doin something else other than treadmilling.. so count the calories you burnt there too...
If you're looking to loose weight..why did have keema aalu with roti and 2 slices??.. and if ure lookin to gain weight ( good weight ) then i think its ok...
450 calories in 45 minutes is good going. That is 100 calories for every 10 minutes on the treadmill. It is not too little. For accuracy your treadmill should ask you to enter your weight. If it doesn't then the calories may not be accurate.
Your second question. No the exercise was for something....you lost 450 calories plus more with other workout that you wouldn't have otherwise.
hi Sabriya,
my dear, the key to keeping a steady and fit stature is to burn calories by active metabolism, and tone body and muscles by regular excercises.
you are fine, just tread mill at the same time, for at least an hour to 4 hours a mile. try to exert a couple of hours after you have taken your last meal, and eat a couple of hours later, a healthy meal after you ate.
wheaty foods like cookies and breads, when eaten too much, does make one gain more weight.
for snacks, only have fruits, salad greens and vegetables, nuts and plenty of cold water.
Sab, instead of having all that bread, eat some salad and/or soup first. Salad and/or soup are good fillers. By the time you get to your salan roti, you won't be starving and hence won't over eat.
Yeah I keep alternating the speed and incline between incline of 1-2 and speed from 3.5-4.5 and verr rarely to a 5. I've tried 6 and its just way too much for me to handle. Also, what kind of proteins should I be taking after working out? And is breathing during normal exercises very important? I always forget to inhale-exhale, does it make much of a difference?

no need to worry about that, our body know what it needs.
oxygen we inhale refresh our body other wise our body come to complete pause. Literally!!
And one more thing its sounds like you work hard to achieve some thing.
When I look at your work out that looks good. I don't understand why don't you sound like a person who is total control.
Is there fat you can't get rid of?
If so , then only reason i could think of is there must some real wrong with the diet.
Are you edicted to sweets or fast food??
I dont understand what you mean.. what do you mean im dont sound like a person who is total control?
And for your second question yes im addicted to sweets but ive cut down on it and I dunno why but I havent really seen any results yet. Im 116 lbs and I wanna go down to at least 110 or 105.
Oooh wait I have another question, I used the chest press the other day cuz I saw everyone else using it.. what exactly is that for?
What I mean is A person who could and does work as hard should be in full control of his weight.
I know when I run 5-6 times a week even weight comes off from my elbows(just an example).
116 is not bad for a tall girl. If I was you I would stop weighing my self period. And I would just enjoy my work out knowing that I look good.
Plus now its like you are working on you athletic sides which is next step in fitness.
for a person that is of a normal weight range they dont need to diet. just watch your portion size and eat well balanced meals but eat everything. :D
:D...I think I negate the effects of my working out with all the food I eat esp the sweets:D...I still cant get myself off off chocolate...my lifeline in this cruel cruel world:D
Ok I have another question. I usually take a shower at the gym immediately after my last exercise. One of the girls at the gym was telling me I shouldnt cuz something about blood still being warm and it shouldnt switch so soon from hot to cold What in the world is she talking about? Why would they have showers at the gym if they’re bad for you??
its a myth back home usually we take shower in cold water in summer.
But after gym you could take shower with warm water.
I use to go to swimming pool right after gym.
