ok so i posted before and i said that i had taken a test 10 days after my period and it said apparently i would be ovulating or whatever in the 24 to 36 hour period, so i assumed that meant we had to do it within that time span to be able to conceive…
and now im on my period..
im angry.
so this dAMN OVULATION crap didnt work…
or didnt i do it properly i was already assumin it was too early for me to ovulate as 9 to 10 days is too short in a 28 day cycle..so we did it on the 14th day too just in case…
now in on my period..means i obviously didnt conceive AND i came on period 3 days early..so this month its a 25 day cycle..
am confuseddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
these tests are pretty accurate in determining the hormonal surge just prior to ovuation. that in no way means that there is a healthy egg, that there is a clear path for sperm to get to the egg or that the sperms are healthy enough to get there. Theres also like an 80 percent chance that if everything is great, there will NOT be a fertilization. So...the odds are against. Creation of life is truly a miracle, something I came to appreciate even more after dealing with infertility myself and then working in that field for 3 year.
If you are worried you should make an appt with a fertility doc. These appts usually are booked about 4 to 6 months in advance. So for peace of mind, why not book one and if inshallah, things work out before the appt, you can ceremoniously cancel it.
Nadz, on average, it will take a healthy couple 6-8 months to conceive. I'm assuming this was your first time? Keep using the ovulation indicators - they're highly accurate. Sometimes your ovaries don't release an egg in addition to the other things Mama pointed out. Keep trying and by no means should you be stressed - its TOO SOON in the game! Any fertility specialists will also want you to try for a full year before they suggest any treatments. Keep using the ovulation predictors - you did use it correctly. And the 14th day ovulation thing is only true for *some *women- note down the dates you are ovulating and the first and last day of your period on a calendar or a notebook so you can watch for patterns and know exactly how long your cycle is. The more you know about your body, the better it is! Plus, should you need to consult a fertility specialist in the future (hopefully not, but in case), they will find this information very helpful.
Nadz, Boots do this great fertility monitor, its about a 100 quid, and you have to buy the special sticks individually, but its great at pinpointing the exact day your egg is released, and even greater it will highlight if you don't release a egg at all
yeah your right guys, it was my first time using it. so let see. and it is too early i know to worry.
and dont worry we are not robotic at all, i dnt think of babies whilst doing the deed, its just afterwards.....so THAt DEPARTMENT is fine...not mechanical at all....
i guess although its oly been 3 months each day feels like years......and then its slightly worrying when everyone else tells you they conceived straigt away......
