condoms

wat does quraan say about having sex with condoms or having sex for pleasure, i know its a sin to have sex before marrage but what about after marrage with your wife.

Re: condoms

Whats the point of having sex with your wife…

Re: condoms

Having sex with comdom is “haram”…in any religion :hehe:

Re: condoms

I don’t think Quran talks directly about condoms. So a lot of opinions about sex and birth control are derived from other guidance provided, and this invariably means that there are differences of opinion. For example on the issue of condom use, some scholars in Pakistan and rest of the Islamic world, consider them haraam. Most others, like those in Bangladesh and Egypt, endorse the use of condoms. I am sure all of them have reasonable arguments to support their position. You should Google to find more about them. Or

Now, Gupshup provides an avenue (in addition to rampant cut-paste that I am sure someone will shortly provide) for members to provide their own views. If you are not interested in these views, then you can just skip the rest of this post.

In my view, Quran prohibits killing babies for fear of poverty *“Do not kill your children for fear of poverty: it is We who shall provide sustenance for them as well as you. Killing them is certainly a great sin.” *(17:31)]. This was an unjust and unfortunate custom of that era. Quran strictly prohibits it. In another place Quran, explains the process of birth (23:12-14). This gives an indication that a sperm alone is not a baby. It has to be fertilized into an embryo before the rulings of killing the babies can apply.

So killing babies is clearly prohibited. Abortion has again divided views, with most consider abortions to be haraam, with limited exceptions (e.g. if mother’s life is in danger)

However, coming back to the issue of condoms or other birth control, I have read several accounts where some sahaba used *coitus interruptus *as a birth control method and it was not prohibited. The evidence for that is the hadeeth of Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: *“We used to engage in coitus interruptus at the time of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). News of that reached the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and he did not forbid us to do that”. *Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 250; Muslim, 160.

Coitus Interruptus is not fool-proof but it was an easier method of birth-control. People have employed it throughout ages. Condom use is perhaps a more sophisticated technique to ensure fertilization of egg and sperm does not occur. I, therefore, think its perfectly ok to use condoms as long as both husband and wife agree on this.

There are many scholars who believe that using any kind of birth control, including coitus interreptus or condoms should be avoided because according to them, the purpose of marriage is to produce as many children as possible (Ref Islam-QA). I completely disagree with that line of thinking, and this is my personal opinion.

Re: condoms

hahahahahahahha

Re: condoms

Nothing after marriage is "forbidden"

Re: condoms

suhaib - why would condoms be haram?

Re: condoms

Re: condoms

I think I know a few more acts that might be frowned on too

Re: condoms

'I think I know a few more acts that might be frowned on too'

lol i agree many things i frowned upon but not neccesarily haram...what is socially acceptable isnt neccesarily what Islam considers unacceptable...from my knowledge those are the only two things that are unacceptable along with self masturbation...otherwise your fine...for shias i havent actually checked thoroughly but i heard their madhab says its ok for anal or maybe my friend was just feeling experimental that day??

Re: condoms

Hmmm… Okay wudn’t pregnancy every single year harm you regardless of pills? Yes the husband has rights to have a kid, but in the end, doenst the decision lie with the wife since she’s the one who hast o carry it and take care of it? I know men hav the final say in family matters but even when it comes to HER body?

Re: condoms

So oral is not haram but swallowing of fluids is…

Re: condoms

‘‘where it says that…nothing after marriage is haraam…’’

http://www.zawaj.com/articles/fatwa_oral_desai.html

In the above they say oral sex is halal…the top one states that sex during menstruation and anally is haram…one of them frowns upon oral but says it is halal…all of them say that ejaculatory fluid is najas…so lol che i guess she’ll just have to spit…

Re: condoms

oral sex is not halal…don’t try to missguide any one… :2guns:

Re: condoms

Care to elaborate a bit more, with sound reasoning and evidence…

Re: condoms

She probably means its' yucky and wahtevers yucky not halal

Re: condoms

I log on and this thread is the one at the very top of the list. Ah, the perplexing problems in Islam. To put on the condom or not. To perform oral sex or not. To go the anal way or not.

please do take note of my blatant sarcasm

Re: condoms

I am sure the concept of consumation even in its most noblist manifestation repulses you…
