Members of parliament are ‘representatives’ of people. How can 5% ‘educated’ represent 95% ‘not-so-educated’?

Education should be the least of our worries. First condition should be the match between a person’s wealth as demonstrated by lifestyle and that declared on income tax returns (if ever filled). We only need honest politicians who are worried about facing the people again in 5 years’ time and not graduates with fake degrees.

Ministerial positions are different. You need experts there, but formal education (specially in Pakistan) does not guarantee even that. I have met businessmen who never went to university but have better insights into HRM, Operations, Finance etc. (all the fancy stuff they teach in business schools) than MBAs from our ‘top universities’.

Would anyone guarantee a guy graduated from Sindh University to have acquired leadership skills from the esteemed professors there?

Welcome to Africa. What you are stating is exactly why Africa went back 200 years in economic development. Speak to a Kenyan about their colonial industry and the changes it brought.

This notion you can understand business, economics, governance without a formal education in the field is exactly what went wrong with Africa.
