Concerned!!

I am FTM, 38 weeks pregnant.. During my last visit with my gynocologist couple of days ago, she examined the pelvis, it was adeqaute, but what she said is the baby has not dropped down to the point it should be.. and ask me to walk.

Should I be worried? And what should i do other than walk? And how much walk?

Re: Concerned!!

I don’t think you should be worried because when I was hospitalised I saw many women who were being told to walk. My mom was also told to walk. Insha Allah things will work out just fine for you :hugz:

Re: Concerned!!

Not to worry. Some babies wait even till labor starts before they drop to that head-down position. My first didnt drop till the right before. My doc was considering a procedure (forget what its called) but they manipulate the baby into the right position by pushing on the mom's tummy. Either way, its not serious. Congratulations to you!!

Re: Concerned!!

just means baby isnt engaged yet and isnt sitting low enough for delivery.

but u still have 2 more weeks to go to 40 weeks...

walking is ure number one friend these days.. WALK WALK WALK.. as much as u can.. dont sit.. go for a walk, climb stairs, be as mobile as u can without putting too much pressure on ure body though....

rest is up to ure body.

good luck and all the best :) heres to wishing u a healthy safe delivery and a happy bonny baby :) inshallah

Re: Concerned!!

For some reason i remember being told that for first babies, they dont usually drop till right before labor. Walking is good in any event, make sure you get a good walk in there every day now. Good luck, you are almost there!

Re: Concerned!!

walk until you can't walk anymore......
my sister was three centimeters dilated and she was walking in the hallways at the hospital to encourage better engagement.
your body will tell you when you have had enough.

good luck!

Re: Concerned!!

I don't know how you women walked after labour started. I couldn't bear the pain. I'm such a loser. :(

tashfeen, like everyone said, there's nothing to worry about. My baby hadn't engaged until the end either.
