Conceptual understading of this theme

This is a new commercial running in pakistan on tv channel nowadays and its concept is very interesting and intriguing for me at least.

I seek conducive explaination of this short event and its reactions shown in this video, from some opinionated girl members of this forum.

Furthermore, imagine it is you there in place of that girl, then how would you like to act.

Keep in mind that both characters are good natured and there is no strings attached whatsoever.

The request to girls end here xxxxxxxxxxx

To all men reading this post

Hi Guys

You all are very much in touch with cricket. I want your opinion on few technical points.

Case 1

Suppose you are a batsman and face a fast bowler. On a short pitch delivery is it worthy to go on back foot ? usually you should go for hook or pull shot ? Am I right ? Please explain

Case 2

When the ball you are facing is an in swining yorker. what are the options for playing a good shot ? I know it is very difficult situation but good players can find a way out. In my opinion the batsman would try to make it a full toss by comming out of its crease ? Please shed light :flower2:

Re: Conceptual understading of this theme

Re: Conceptual understading of this theme

Case 1: Its been years since I played, but yes and no. If you are strong on the back foot and it is indeed pulling height then by all means attempt the pull shot. However if its way to fast or climbing too fast leaving it alone is worthy option.

Case 2: I can't deal with in swingers. So I would play defensive and hope to Allah i don't get an LBW or bowled.

It does make a lot of sense if you can feel a touch of expressions.

When there are no dialogues, there are expressions. ' Facial expression ' when you look closely then you will understand that there are just 10/15 lines for speaking but a lot more expressed throguh facial expression of these characters.

Just to highlight the importance of Facial expression in theme and drama, here I offer two examples :

Watch 'Scent of a Woman' ( again , if you have seen it already. As i do love watching this masterpiece again and again and agian... ) Pay close attention to scene where Col. Frank goes un-invited to see his brother and family in their home on thanks giving. Observe their facial expressions. Look closely at each one character's facial expression and discomfort reflected through their body.

Secondly, Watch the video of this song named 'khamaj'. Brilliantly sung and picturised song you may see in decades. This complete story in this short video is conveyed through expressions ; whether its emotions ,joy , grief, achievement , pride or pain. No word spoken. Just marvellous acting without any word uttered.

Re: Conceptual understading of this theme

Interesting ad.

Thanks for taking part in case study. :flower1:

You are right. almost all shot which can be played on a short pitch delivery you have to go on ‘back foot’. Be it pull , hook or cut. First two are played on ON side and last one goes to OFF side. Curx of the matter is that aggressive shots can be played by going on back foot.

I partially agree with you on Case 2. But sometime you have you find a way out. Swinging yorkers are deadly sometime but not always. Comming out of crease and making it full toss can sometime kill the venom. I agree with you that such deliveries are lethal sometime.

Re: Conceptual understading of this theme

it's just an ad ... the girl didnt say k mein tumhari ex-wife ya mehbooba bol rahi houn!

Re: Conceptual understading of this theme

so very fake. This does not happen in real life.

Re: Conceptual understading of this theme

They want to show that Nestle chai is so darn refreshing that a woman can turn a potentially negative situation into a positive one. That she can have a let go attitude instead of giving her husband chittars.

Wonder if it would have the same effect if some dude called the wife instead :halo:

Hahaha. There probably would be a full on investigstion in real life.

Maybe Chai only soothes women in this way. :chai:

Re: Conceptual understading of this theme

Anyhow, the issue is made complicated by using cricket example here. Many do not understand the game.

The ad is too much Indian in language and presentation. And this is not even representative of Indian culture, let alone Pakistani. Movie theme? Maybe.

Regardless the woman on the phone on other side said anything being the previous gf of the guy, this was the theme in the ad.

I agree, being not the norm, these kind of ads do give a message to general people of being tolerant and then one thing leads to other. And potentially then wife loses her home.

It is the dream/fantasy of a man to be able to meet with previous gf with acceptance of his wife though. Or vice versa. :D

That ho has my name :snooty:

Okay seriously, did the woman on the phone even suggest anything untoward? I didn’t think she did. So, I personally wouldn’t create some topi drama over it. The only thing that’s slightly worrying is the dude’s body language and facial expressions when he heard her name… :hmmm:

But yeh, the ad is just some contrived way of showing how drinking nescafe/making nescafe is so soothing that a woman will remain cool as a cucumber regardless of the situation. I wonder how many husbands stocked up on Nescafe after seeing this ad
