In west, ladies are also earning bread and butter for their families and hence meeting criteria of ‘to provide for and protect one’s family’. So, they are challenging the typical male dominated societies by doing acts which fall under mardangi.

On other hand a lady can be brave, are generally more loyal than males and they do show commitment to promises. This shows that they can show the attributes of ‘mardangi’.

The expectation that men possess these attributes is not to say that these attributes are exclusive to men or that only men possess them. Of course, women can also possess bravery, loyalty, and commitment and there are some well known examples in history of women who did (read about Malala of Maiwand).
