Okay, I use foundation to just cover up spots. Is concealer worth buying - will it cover up spots entirely, because even with foundation, the spots can be seen although they are toned down.
Secondly, when applying eyeshadow, my eyelids are typically desi dark. So I have a horrible time with eyeshadows, because light colors wont show brightly. I have used the trick of putting foundation on them first before applying eyeshadow, and it works to an extent. Then I read somewhere that you can use concealer on your eyelids before you apply the eyeshadow?
I commonly apply concealor over my eyelids and under the eyes if i'm wearing eyeshadow. Yeah it totally works.
Foundation is not for covering up spots or blemishes, that's what you use conealor for. Foundation is to give the appearance of smooth, even colored skin. So yes, concealor is worth buying.
As for your eyes, maybe you're not using the right color eyeshadows.. pale baby pink and powdery blue colors do not look nice on typical desi dark tones. Wat colors r u using?
Well, like if I try to put on a dark brown, it doesnt come out as vivid as it looks on the eyeshadow pad.
Maybe I need to use the concealer to get it to really work.
You see, my eyelids are really dark, to the point that I usually don't need to wear eyeshadow. It looks like I've got natural eyeshadow, as long as I put a liner on. But regardless, some days I look like I'm on crack.
Well this is why you oughta try out the colors on the back of ur hand.. often times the color in the package does NOT match when u put it on ur skin coz of the skincolor, chemistry etc..
my mom has the same type of eyelids as u, and mine r gonna be that way soon too :( She said it's from using tones of eyeshadow but it's not coz she's had em forever and she NEVER waers eye makeup, and I dont wear eyeshadow often.. so wats the deal :(
dont use foundation on your eyelids or under eyes....use an eye concealor....revlon actually has really good ones....i think they come in three shades....

PCG. I use only concealer and no foundation. I use it under my eyes and on eyelids. I use a powder over my face after that and a little blush. I find that eyeshadows do look better with a little concealer on my lid and probably last longer. I like to use a cream eyeshadow with a subtle shimmer in it, in a beige or peachy tone. I find this helps to lighten the eye area but still looks natural for our desi skin tone.
have u tried using eyeshadow base? i’ve never used concealer and dont really have the darkened eye area problem but my sis uses the base stuff by mac and says its wonderful. u should try this stuff too. use base, apply light color like beige eyeshadow all over to get an even tone and then use any other eyeshadow color u want. this way the colors will stay on and conceal ur problemo.
I have really bad undereye circles and a few acne scars and yes, you really need a concealer to cover those. I use MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW 25(but of course, you’ll have to figure out your “shade”)…it has a SPF 35 and is about $13.50. In fact, I just bought my 2nd pot this past weekend. The one I had before lasted alittle over a year!
My eyelids are also darker than my face. You can use a concealer OR a eye shadow base on the lids. I use Clinique Touch Base for Eyes in Petal Shimmer. It definately makes a huuuuge difference.
