Can anyone please help me out in finding a good concealer? At the moment am using Benefit ‘It stick’ which lightens my dark circles but doesn’t really properly conceal them. I have really really dark circles under my eyes and I’m so tired of them (oh the irony). Liquid concealers I’ve noticed don’t really stay on for very long with me - I want it to last the day, and another thing I wana avoid is when the concealer sits in the lines under your eyes and makes you look soo oldd!
I don’t know if perhaps it’s because the concealers I’ve used have been for white people’s skin and therefore don’t work that well with mine even though I am reasonably fairish (light olive skin tone) .. I’ve heard using an orange based correcter works well with desi skin tones Has anyone got any experience of this? I tend to use drugstore makeup brands, but am willing to splash it IF I can find a concealer that works!!
I really like the bobbi brown concealer and powder kit , you could go to a counter and check it out. ( I prefer bobbi brown over MAC ) and have had a very good experience with it. The powder that comes with it prevents the concelaer going into your creases under your eyes and it covers the dark circles up well too!
I'm currently using the MAC concealer but I don't think it covers my dark circles completely - maybe around 60 %
I have tried the Bobbi Brown corrector (peach) and i have to say it was great...I haven't bought one myself yet though..
Last week I heard about the collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer (16 hr)...I don't really own anything from this brand but was surprised to hear the great reviews for it so decided to buy it. I tried it on and am pleasantly surprised - it covered my dark circles better than the MAC concealer! And it was like half the price..

i just made my SIL buy this ! personally, i only use the creamy concealer from Bobbi brown, had the loose powder (from the previous kit they used to make) but my under eyes can be dehydrated so it didn't work. so what i do to prevent creasing is apply a mattyfing primer before applying concealer (the one I use is Sephora - smoothing primer)
my SIL has really really bad circles so the MUA also used the corrector from the same brand, and she like it even more paired with the concealer so she got both.
I am also loving the Laura Mercier concealer (the one in a round pot) which i got in a kit and i'm starting to think it's actually better than the Bobbi Brown one
Have you tried the MAC concealer in Studio Finish? It's a thick consistency and goes a very long way. Make sure to get a shade in NW instead of NC since the "warm"/pink/peach in that cancels out the darkness. It's for $17, i use it and I love it. I also use it for blemishes and for under eye, i apply an eye cream first and then dab it on using my ring finger and it goes on amazing.
Omg try Benefit's Erase Paste!! It such a thick concealer and goes on perfectly for heavy dark circles, and the little tub lasts forever!/QUOTE
I used to have the erase paste by Benefit, they only have 3 shades though, and it says on the pot that you're supposed to use it for no more than 6 months, but i don't know if it's still the case, i had it a long time ago
I prefer the Bobbi Brown concealer over MAC too. I found that the MAC one was very cakey...not a cool look! Plus you get the accompanying fine powder with Bobbi Brown! :)
I do not like studio finish for the under-eye, it's way too thick.
As mentioned, moisturise well. I prefer a light liquid concealer (MAC select cover up) and then a must is a brightening pen on top. I use Dior Skinflash but you can use whatever suits you best - YSL Touche Eclat, Estee Lauder Illuminating concealer, No7 instant radiance concealer (this one suited my sister the best) etc.
I know they not to apply STudio Finish under the eye for thickness but I apply it over my eye cream and it goes on amazing. Will give Select Coverup a try also.
