I need to buy a laptop for school, but I have no idea which one to get. Something really basic, I don’t really care about cd burners or DVD players or anything fancy like that. I’m on a student budget which is not much. Best buy has the Toshiba Satellite M35X-S111 Notebook with 256MB USB 2.0 Drive for $729.99, is that a good ideal? Help please!!!
As a student u should probably go with something which is lighweight and therefore easy transportable...but then again they will probably be over ur budget.Toshiba is decent company but i usually avoid buying anything from best buy since almost all their high end items have lousy rebates attached which can easily take upto 4-6 months to get.See if u can get something with a little bit more RAM..it might cost u $50 extra but u will be thankful for it since im sure this laptop will be running windows XP...which eats alot ram.If ur not planning on doing any high intensity tasks like graphics processing..and just gonna be doing word editing...go fot this deal.Best of luck.
Just make a trip to FRY's and check with the guys there in the laptop section. They'll guide you. Get any of the ones in your budget. Get a FRY's warranty on the laptop too. I got a 3 year warranty on mine.
You can check Best Buys and Comp USA too.
I got my own from FRY's. The ones they have are the top of the line ones and the prices are comparable to the others anyway.
Spending too much time on researching for the BEST laptop and the BEST deals isn't worth it. I would say just go down to FRY's and get the laptop. For a student, all the latest ones are very good.
