Computer monitors

I’m thinking to buy a new one soon, one that will be easy on the eyes. Flat-screen most likely. Any suggestions on what to look for and what to avoid? Thanks.

LOL Pir ji  making her confused

munni, flat screen are normal CRT monitors (TV like thingi’s) but have a completely flat screen.. hence the name..
And flat panel are those TFT or LCD screens..

example of both:

Now, I think you are looking for a flat panel one. So I’d suggest to go for one made from IIYAMA or Sony. Those are one of the best :k:

OR, you can save a buck and get a Dell Trinitron instead of a Sony!

Right, flat panel. smile

^Flat Panel? I personally wouldn't - but if you say so go ahead.

Look out for dead pixels by making the sales representative open a white page - pure white. If you see any black dots on the screen, the pixels are dead and check another monitor of same make and model as dead pixels appear by luck.

I recommend a Samsung SyncMaster.

Yes they save energy and space, but so what? Flat panels have a shorter lifespan, have terrible output, and are quite expensive. Only buy a flat panel if you're short on desk space and a tree hugger.

Hmm, I talk to trees, does that count? smile

Please explain "terrible output". Thanks.

^ put a flat screen crt next to a flat panel, and you'll see the CRT has a better quality screen.
