'Computer glitch' hits US flights

**A computer glitch affecting aircraft flight plans is causing cancellations and delays across the eastern US.**According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a computer system in Atlanta, Georgia, which processes flight plans is not working properly.

As a result, controllers are being forced to enter flight plans manually, the FAA says.

Delays will occur until the problem is solved, it says, but the safety of planes in the air is not affected.
