Re: Compliment or an Insult?
Lol I'm not sure depends on which shop he/she's been eating from but it's a funny comment, might try it out sometime.
Re: Compliment or an Insult?
if she said it for channay ka salan, let me tell you it's teh biggest compliment ever!!!
If she was talking about the excess oil, then I believe not :D (just kidding)
Compliment it is!!
Re: Compliment or an Insult?
wow GTG , now you have confused me even more !
I will have to find out why they think its like bazar ka khanah:smack:
Re: Compliment or an Insult?
compliment. sometimes you spend years trying to perfect the taste just like you ate at the rehri. :hinna:
Re: Compliment or an Insult?
It depends who are they comparing it with.
They can mean to say it tastes as horrible as sold at baba ka dhaba or they can meant to say it taste as good as … you can put name of yours or theirs favorite restaurant. Let me tell you this each restaurant does not make everything good . Some are good some are not so good and so so. Sometimes even the thing they are famous for would not be so great. ![]()
Re: Compliment or an Insult?
Khumar
… rehri .. no way  …
Mirch , yeah you are right .. but then again , isnt ghar ka khanah always better then bahar ka khanah? ![]()

The extra proteins and from the secret ingredient from makhi paste makes everything delicious.
Re: Compliment or an Insult?
You're reading too much into it, CB.
That comment would be a compliment. If you think about it, most people try their best to make their homemade cooking taste just as good as the food that is found in the bazaar. And "bazaar" for me is a loose term. It also includes restaurants.
You've heard people wish that their gol guppay would turn out as good as the ones bought on the street, or that their kababs would turn out as tender as the ones they bought on the street or in some restaurant, or that their chicken or coleslaw would turn out as crispy and delicious as the one they get from KFC or some other fast-food place. Street food is popular and many times food programs will do a segment that is all about street food.

don't forget the fiber (dust)
Re: Compliment or an Insult?
OP.....just take it as a compliment.....story finished..
Re: Compliment or an Insult?
i would say it was ment as a compliment, though depending on who said it you can view it either way.
probably i would not be too happy as comparing home made food to fast/restuarant food that take 3 minutes for them to make is an insult.
Re: Compliment or an Insult?
bahir ka khana is not always bad or awful....ther'es a reason why ppl try to emulate some of their own dishes so that they taste like somethign from a restaurant/takeout.
