To start, I’m sharing links for PTV drama ‘Kalmoohi’ which was aired in 2010. The drama is based on Tagore’s novel dramatised by: Seemal Numan & Directed by: Sarmad Khoosat

**Synopsis:
**This drama follows the life of a middle class professional, Nadia, and her journey through life. She faces hardships in form of societal pressures regarding older unmarried girls, betrayal, the options availible to them for marriage, the sacrifices a girl must make for children. She is caught in a tug of war between what she wants to do and her sense of responsibility towards family and their izzat and her children. It is related in a very realistic manner and her character development throughout the story is interesting to watch unfold. The entire drama was aired in 2010 and is back on popular demand again in 2011.
Complete episodes can be found online on youtube (upon my request! :D) by an uploader called desidramas. Other links onto are zshare links and don’t open. Any other uploaders on youtube are airing the drama as it is retelecast every week but you can watch the entire series via desidramas links. I shall post the first complete episode here and you all can follow it from thereonin. The nice thing is that the drama is availible without breaks and isnt divided into parts as most dramas are on youtube (eg diyajalay ep1,part 1/diyajalay ep1, part 2)

Star cast include: Samina Peerzada, Waseem Abbas, Azm ul Haq, Afzal Ahmed, Mehmood Aslam, Tahira Wasti, Farooq Zameer, Abid Kashmiri & Sohail Asghar.
The story revolves around different tracks including
(i) triangle between an actress (Samina Peerzada), hotel owner (Tahira Wasti) and her husband (Afzal Ahmed)
(ii) Struggling youths (Waseem Abbas & Azm ul Haq) against odds of society
(iii) Ameer maa baap ki bigdi hui aulad involved in student politics (Mehmood Aslam)

Karawaan is the story of a folk singer ‘Sukhaan’ (Huma Akbar) who migrated from Tharr due to famine with her father (Yaqoob Zakaria), greedy uncle (Nisar Qadri) & lover Gul (Rahat Kazmi). Due to some events Gul is arrested by police and then joins a group involved in suspicious activities.
Under the patronage of a feudal lord Wadera Ali Nawaz Khan (Mehmood Siddiqui), Sukhaan is introduced to a radio producer Mehmood (Talat Iqbal), who gives her a chance for singing on Radio Pakistan and thus she became famous all over.
Seeing her popularity and future prospects Mehmood, who is already married and having two children, proposes Sukhaan, which is accepted by Sukhaan. Sukhann shortly realises that she was cheated by Mehmood and then a series of events occurs which proves how much difficulties and exploitation a woman has to face in our society…

PTV Islamabad Drama ‘Junoon’. Aired in 1994-95
The drama is based on Masood Mufti’s novel ‘Khilone’ beautifully dramatised by ‘Mansha Yaad’ who also penned ‘Raahain’, ‘Bandhan’ & ‘Pure Chand Ki Raat’. Rubina Ashraf, Ayaz Naik, Nayyar Ejaz,Shamim Hilali, Nargis Rasheed did a wonderful job in this serial which revolves around the story of woman who loses everything by running behind material things.

PTV Drama ‘Hasaron Raaste’. Aired in late 1986-87
a star studded cast with Abid Ali, Firdous Jamal, Aurangzeb Leghari, Irfan Khosat and a very young Rubina Ashraf working under Rashid Dar’s direction of a play written by Mustansar Hussain Tarar – it does not get better than this. A lighthearted play mostly remembered for Rubina Ashraf’s fresh presence and Firdous Jamal’s hilarious acting is a must watch drama.

PTV Drama Seerhiyaan (aired in 1987-88)
A story of a struggling man who was very good at using his mind & people to achieve his material goals, but has to accept defeat against a poor but courageous woman. Beautifully written by: Abdul Qadir Junejo, Directed by: Kazim Pasha.
Rubina Ashraf, Salman Shahid & M Warsi playing best roles of their career.
Other cast included: Saleem Nasir (probably his second last performance before Jaangloos), Humaira Zaheer, Ayesha Khan, Muhammad Yousuf (probably his last performance), Mehmmod Ali, Sajida Syed, Samar Tufail (in Debut performance before playing powerful village woman in Jaangloos), Aslam Latar, Imtiza Taj & Nisar Qadri
