WHY is the Pakistani music scene not taking advantage of the internet to expand itself??
I mean, you look up “India + music” on any old search engine, and you’ll get endless pages of links…but there are pretty much only a few FUNCTIONAL pakistani music websites.
WHYYYYYY?
Its so difficult to get information about what is going on with the music industry…furthermore, sometimes you don’t even know that some group or solo singer is coming out with an album its been released or until 2 months after its release!
There is little coverage on what goes on behind the scene (although IM does a good job with regards to interviews and behind-the-scenes on videos - but who sees IM abroad anyway?) and its pretty pathetic I think.
Grrr…even when you do get your hands on some interview on the net…it always features the same questions, with maybe the word order shuffled around!
What do you guys think? Am I making a stink out of nothing, or is this really a problem that our growing industry needs to take care of fast?
I don't know it's not difficult for me to get information about what is goin on with the music industry. I don't know what webpages and search engine you're browsing.
Pakistani artists should all have official web pages. I know many of them do already, but these official websites should be the center for all information, news, interviews from magazines, webzines, radio stations, etc.
This way, when a fan wants to search for their favorite artist, they'll be directed to their official website which will contain all the information they'll need to know, instead of searching high and low for news or information from often unreliable sources.
