There’s competitive people, extremely competitive people, and then there’s competitive jerks! The difference? Well competitive/extremely competitive people cause no harm! In fact, their competitiveness only does good for everyone.
I am an extremely competitive person and would always be willing to work as hard as possible (and sometimes even harder) to perform better than my opponent. Competition is what motivates me. My opponent is my motivation.
Competitive jerks, however, treat their opponents as allies. The only thing they are motivated to do is to wipe out the enemy. They will do everything in their power, not to increase their efficiency, but to make sure the opponent’s efficiency level is somehow brought down.
HUMA on a more serious note, why do u even bother urself with that, u worked hard and you got the result, now if they are jealous so be it :k: there is no competition
@ Kaun/libranrulz: I understand but its quite difficult to ignore such behaviour. I actually started feeling guilty thinking may be I did something to provoke them. They're bright guys, they should really stop acting like school girls.
I don't get it. If you compete solely because you want to do better not necessarily harm others in the process why do you care about what other think??? You are doing yourself good right, so just focus on yourself.
On the other hand, competition motivates us. Maybe you getting good grades and them not, will motivate them. That's just how some people are. I don't see anything wrong with it.

They're making me feel like I cut their private parts off.
Yeah i am sure you feel bad but like I said that's how some people are. If you are this upset now, I can't imagine you going in the real world. Its all about competition. And it gets worse. I studied in organizational behavior. That behavior is considered normal and a motivation factor for some!
You're right. Tomorrow, I'm going to class and thanking these guys for preparing me for what's out there in the real world, a taste of which I already have experienced during my internship.
LOL its the toronto vibe man … thats why we tend to agree … i’m tired of these cat fites thou … i wish the mods could give out red cards or yellow cards like in soccer … sara can u do that … can u can u
So having been in all those categories myself, I can tell you I learned the hard way that being a competetive JERK is not worth it. It alienates you becaues people don't want to deal with you at the end of the day. You lose out on opportunities for growth and development, personally and professionally, because you lose those contacts.
It only takes ONE person to gossip about you and you are DONE. In the office setting. I mean, then you gotta work so hard to re-establish your reputation, which can be done...but it is a long haul and some people will never forgive or re-trust even if they realize it was all a misunderstanding.
Not worth being so competetive. Do hard work where you can. Do excellent work, in fact. But do not step on anyone's toes in the process. Just absolutely not worth it. And keep lines of communications open with people and let them know that they can feel totally open about coming to you and talking to you if they feel troubled by you in any way.
At the end of the day, you work and study so that you can live a fulfilling life. You don't waste your life in order to work. There is a difference.
