Competition

We, being South Asians, are pretty familiar with this word. It’s the one word our parents tatooed into our minds since we learned the 26 alphabets! “Aaj kal competition bohat ziadah hai, bohat mehnat kerni hogi” (or something of that sort).
I never really gave a darn about competition and tried my best to sail through my academic years keepin a light-hearted mood. However, now that I’m in my final year of undergrad studies, I’m really begining to realize what “competition” truly is and it’s not a very pleasant feeling. I’ve been studying like before but my grades don’t reflect that anymore simply because of the higher class average and the professors tend to “curve down” the grade. I just don’t know how to deal with it. I’m getting so disheartened that I don’t feel like putting any extra effort..
Any tips please?
