Something interesting about this. In the US most people do not discuss salaries with their coworkers. Everyone has a general idea what the other probably makes, but no exact figures. In some companies discussing salary is a reason to get fired. However, in Pakistan it is common to share this kind of information. I wonder which actually leads to more jealousy.

my cousin husband settled with family in australia and yeah he was raking in $$$ hard time and allot of people started asking questions how is it possible for this bloke to buy a house in one year. anyways, pakistanis have this thing to ask straight to your face how much do you earn etc and they want exact figures mind you. he does earn quite abit for some who just settled in australia (around $1600 gross p/w) and i told him never to tell any1 anything. anyways, when he never told people and just beated around the bush more questions used to be asked, i just told him to tell everyone your on $2.5K p/w and just enjoy the kodak momment! everyone jsut shut up
