Sad fact is that Pakistani leaders including Musharraf don’t know how to communicate according to the Western (news) media standards. If you want to see a non-US guy playing the media like a puppet master, watch BB Nethanyahu of Israel in action. That guy is impressive!

our politicians need to be trained to deal with diff media. Not just them but also community talking heads. Its always interesting to see when there is someone who is more articulate than the anchor thought.
I vividly recall some imam from a dc area masjid on Paula Zahn and her intention was to just do some entrapment, and goes. imam xyz, but does not the quran say in cater this verse this ... Imam says well inded it does, u know thoe verses so u must now the verses before and after these verses, which state, in addition, chapter so and so, verse so and so, it states that..... I mean u could just see that Paula was not ready for that and her basic premise exploded in her face, to see her squirm was really kewl. At times the spokeperson for KSA as well as their ambassador prince Bandar have really handled interviews well also, sadly majority of pakisani and muslim spokespersons are not trained or prepared.

i must agree with you all. It is very unfortunate on our side that there are very few of us taking part in western media. Recently I was watching an interview of Musharraf regarding his book, I was shock to see that a man with such standards could barely put his words together. He is not as bad, but for a president, he indeed needs some trianing.
Meanwhile, despite my disdain for Benazir Bhutto, I admit that she is a well spoken and her English is much better than almost all our former and current leaders.
Imran Khan came couple of years ago to RIS conference in Toronto and looked wonderful presenting his thoughts/beliefs in an organized manner.

there is this politician sher afgun niazi who plays the govt. shill on ARY and GEO political shows. hes a real pro. his whole strategy revolves around bringing in irrelevant but true things like "God is a good guy" and "cows have big eyes" into long, condescending explanations all the while insisting that he be given a chance to explain his position, and if people were really honest they would agree with him.
he was asked quite a few tough questions and he came out shining each time.
