Is India ready for Commonwealth Games ? With just two months to go, We hope it is not a fiasco. The immediate focus should be on preventing the CWG in India itself from becoming the organisational disaster of the century, the mother of all CWG disasters, and instead becoming the world-class event, source of celebration and national pride, that it should be.
Beijing Olympics were spectacular. The visual spectacle, imbibed with Chinese culture, which set the sky ablaze with music and dance, was spellbinding and the ceremony passed off with perfection. It was, in fact, the mother of all Olympics opening ceremonies. The newly built stadiums were impressive, and the event basically opened the eyes of the world to what China can and will achieve. More people watched the opening ceremony in China than that in Athens. It told the world that China, not America, stands at the centre of the universe.
The Commonwealth Games (CWG), which India is hosting for the first time, also have the potential to be a source of national pride, and to show the world what India is made of.

Instead of wasting money on games these people should help out the 700 million Indians in poverty. The richer get rich and the poor just get more poor.

indian economy is second fastest after china-we r the IT giants-tourism is booming in our country-most of the multinationals r now based in india-every major cities r getting metros- can u guys tell me hoe many tourist comes to pakistan apart form jihadis to get training-games will be a success in delhi-and the money is ours not begged from US or UK-our economy is not based in aids from foreign country unlike pakistan any way sorry for the harsh words but reality is bitter to digest

This is the truth about the world's ****tiest country India. Gaandustanis like you belong in Dharavi or kissing BJP or RSS's ass and not here. You can bark about Pakistan being bad on an Indian forum but not here on a Pakistani forum. Don't sh!t on the same plate on which you eat.

i visit a website about constructions from all over the world including commonwealth games in delhi. Honestly, things don't luk gud and a lot of corruption is involved. but again, there were many issues wid beijing olympics such as air pollution n restrictions on visitors but they pulled it off successfully. besides, commonwelath games r not even that big of a deal as asian games or olympic games. i think they r gonna manage. hope to see pakistan host such events in future.

Yes yes yes Fulcrum we know we know geting AID is begging but Charity is not. We should follow the example of great India and start a massive charity sector instead, thanks for the great idea. :).
The rest of your yada yada don't even make sense given the fact that vast majority is poor, massive starvation deaths, lack of infrastructure and the list goes on and on.

Indians will do everything in their power to make it a success. From beating beggars of the streets and out of sight, to razing entire slum neighborhoods, making homeless countless numbers of people. All so the English dont accidentally step over a half dead street urchin.
Indians really are despicable nation. Image is everything, reality is an inconvenience.
Why not just discuss teh issue without sarcastic comments…ufff
