Commonwealth Games - India's shame

commonwealth Games: We in India always knew we are a corrupt nation - now the whole world knows.

The corrupt companies would have made their millions, the government inspectors would have made their millions. After the games, we’ll all go home and forget it.
The millions of poor, would again come back to sleep on the streets and maybe these corrupt people will give them a rupee or two - to ease their conscience.

Does anyone think any of “these” people will be punished, maybe a few small players, the ‘big cats’
will not be touched.

As an Indian I am ashamed.

Re: Commonwealth Games - India's shame

In India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the entire subcontinent, if you have power & monies, you will not be touched. That is unfortunate but true in general.

Re: Commonwealth Games - India's shame

Well I do get it is corruption but I don't get it, to link the bridge collapse with terrorist and specially linking it with Pakistan.

Re: Commonwealth Games - India's shame

why are u dragging india, bengladesh and somalia with Pakistan???we lie in a separate region, nothing to do with them and no ties whatsoever.
could be unfortunate for you not for Pakistanis.

Re: Commonwealth Games - India's shame

Re: Commonwealth Games - India's shame

Re: Commonwealth Games - India's shame

thats right, lol away when an indian graciously accepts the country's weak points but get all excited when a pakistani points out the country's weak but true points.

Lagay raho.

Re: Commonwealth Games - India’s shame

There was a tweet that said “Commonwealth games have been renamed to Survivor: New Delhi” :hehe:

Re: Commonwealth Games - India’s shame

Welcome to the Club of Shame. Before it was Pakistan only… :hehe:

Re: Commonwealth Games - India's shame

Except for sportsmen, Media or public never cared about the Common Wealth games. But, thanks to New Delhi and Indian Govt, Common Wealth Games are famous throughout the world now.

Re: Commonwealth Games - India's shame

Curruption is a political issue. If you deal with any private enterprise in India or for that matter even in Pakistan or Bangladesh, you will not find currution. Visit any Indian private Company, the security gaurd will not ask you Chai Pani or bribe..

Curruption is in the Indian govt and if you are a part of govt, its normal to take bribe and its normal for state level (not a central level) govt jobs being sold for the highest bidder.

But, this is not true for Indian Private sector, you cannot bribe the hiring manager and get a job in any Indian Private Company.

South Asians are not currupt, but south asians assciated with the govt system are currupt. And at times, if you have to deal with the currupt system, you have no option but to entertain their system

Re: Commonwealth Games - India's shame

Yamahaguy: This is a national shame, we Indian's should never try to justify or minimise the extreme corruption which is rotting our country. The rich are becoming richer and the poor poorer.
It is time we realise, that we are rotten to the core - I am sick & tired of excuses.

You talk of private companies being honest - have you checked to see how much tax they pay?
They make their millions (or Billions) and bribe/hide/cheat to pay practically nothing. Private companies have been robbing/cheating/bribing officials to get mining rights for peanuts from the tribal areas - "Exploitation of the Tribal areas", that how the Naxalite movement came on.(though I do not condone the Naxalite brutal methods)

Even if the Games go ahead, heads must roll. a special judge must be appointed and all accused of bribery, mismanagement, corruption must be given exemplery punishment.

We must as a nation look at ourself, and turn this humilation into India's turning point - zero tolerance for corruption, bribery. No exceptions, no excuses.
