I was reading Shaikh Ayaz’s autobiography. During 60s, Faiz Ahmed Faiz appointed famous Punjabi writer Ahmed Shamim to translate Shaikh Ayaz’s Sindhi poetry in Punjabi. In Shaikh Ayaz’s words ’ I was astonished to see that Ahmed Shamim could translate 60% Sindhi poetry into Punjabi maintaining same Qafiyas of Sindhi poetry into Punjabi’
Time and again, I found many common words in both the languages. So, thought to compile such words in this thread.
So help me out in this effort. We will select a poem or piece of prose from Punjabi and identify common words between the two languages.
Interesting thread, well it does make sense for having similar words as Indus Valley civilization was spread out around Indus river which forms most of Pakistan we have these days.
