Common sense is not so common in today's generation any more because they start looking for logic.

I would have thought they prob have more common sense as they're more independent than past generations and are more likely to need to stand on their on two feet than staying with/around family forever and relying on them as was more common in the past..

there is no correlation between sense and independence...

Ppl who have to do things for themselves rather than having mummy/daddy/servants do practically everything for them wil often have more common-sense imo.. Simply even living away from home and being independent (eg for uni) would mean you'll prob have to use ur brain more and need to work things out for yourself..

Theres common sense and then theres instinct and between the two you have pure mindless luck...
I dont agree that common sense has become less common...
Sense has become more complex and diverse therefore until somebody defines common then we cant define common sense...
besides it varies from place to place... back home it's common sense to avoid seeking shelter under dense foliage. The poisonous animals and predators hide in those places... but when somebody unfammiliar comes along to take a pee or rest in the shade... thats the last you see of them or they are heard screaming for help and rescued.
Likewise in a city most folk have the sense not to seek shelter in a step up electric transform building... but then again I myslef once made the mistake of hiding in such a place until I realized the lighting hiting a man symbol was not something good.
