Common kids booboos and troubles

List a few and their remedies. Here are some to start with:

  1. Kid falls on street, gets a bleeding scrape. Wash with water. Spray antiseptic on, or apply antibiotic ointment. No need for bandaid right away.

  2. Kid bangs nose on wall. Aplly ice pack…a bag of frozen veggies, or some ice wrapped in a cloth or in a ziploc bag.

  3. Tummy ache. Fist ask them to sit on toilet. If that doesn’t work, I usually boil some fennel seeds, strain and keep in a container, and give them a couple of teaspoons.

Please add on.

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

What about for minor burns? What if ur infant rolls over and off the couch?

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

SCG.. my son is now 6 months and rolls over so easily.. within few second he is from one end to another. He fell twice from the bed and we have hardwood floor. Today I put him on the bed and went to the kitchen to turn off the stove.. came back saw him right at the edge.. I panicked, I ran to get him and I FELL so hard on the floor my knee is badly injured, you can see the bone. I didn't even care, got up and started running to get him before his fall again. Sigh... motherhood :(

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

u can give them paracetamol if they really fell down badly.

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

For minor burns that don't cause a blister...just some neosporin. If the infant rolls over the couch, I'd check for nose bleeds, and call the doc on call right away. Usually nothing happens. My daughter rolled off our bed once. She was 9 months old and the hubby and I were in the room, moving some stuff around while she was laying down...all of a sudden, she rolled over and fell. She cried and then sat up and smiled.

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

omg how scary :( what do you mothers do when say you need to go to the toilet or take a shower or something and there's no one else at home, do you leave the baby alone?

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

You just make sure your baby is in the crib. My kid has only fallen off once and that too when both parents were in the room :smack:. Never when I’ve left them to go take a shower.

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

my cousin’s baboo makes trouble for his parents…he eats up (or atleast try to) anything in front of him…even creeping living things too :disgust: she is so much worried.

any help here?

If you see lots of blood like From a cut on lip or tongue specially inside the mouth where you cannot put pressure sprinkle sugar on the cut it will stop bleeding my boys always get a cut in the mouth, lip, tongue and the first thing we grab is sugar I even keep sachets in first aid box and my purse.

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

ouch! is your knee ok? i totally understand the mad dash though- i'd probably be the same. baby hasn't started rolling over yet but he's trying to sit up in his bouncer and he's rolled over half way, so i'm always on the alert for the total roll over.

hah! she's awesome.

i strap him into his bouncer or swing first.

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

I face the same issue with my 17 month old.She puts everything in her mouth.
I was praying yesterday and she somehow managed to get hold of a a tissue and munched on that. Her board books have no more corners because she chews on them...everything has to end up being tasted.I am fed up with this 'phase' of hers.
I am being told its a phase and she will outgrow it ...lets hope,sooooon..!!

Re: Common kids booboos and troubles

my mum says my brother used to do the same...some old lady told my mother to sprinkle or add some edibles that taste bad on the things and place them in front of him.. he would stop this hobby and really it worked.

but my cousin's son..he doesn't even spares insects around him...other day he saw some creeping bug he was about to take it into his mouth when she got the sight and ran...
