I don't know...I think if two people live together...they SHOULD be asking each other if doing something is okay. Its common courtesy. You SHARE a space and being respectful of that space is a responsibility BOTH have. Asking is just the right thing to do. Not because its a power struggle because let's face it...no one is required to do anything. Its a voluntary courtesy which can easily be extended to someone you happen to share a home with...the least you can do.

She should have but if it was a one off incident, I'd not have made a big issue out of it. Many one off things happen in relationship that you need to ignore and that will make the relationship only better.

If this was not one off and keep on happening every now and then, you need to sit and talk to her that how you do not like and and you would really appreciate if she "ask" you before agreeing to such arrangement.
