I just wanted to ask all ladies and men here not to make weight gain/lost comments to pregnant ladies. We are very sensitive about EVERYTHING and extra sensitive about our physical appearance.
I go to pick up my son from school yesterday and run into a lady I barely know. She had seen me a month ago and knew I was pregnant. Her first comment to me was “omg you are getting bigger every time i see you,” i am like, well that’s what happen’s during a pregnancy. To this she adds, “yaar you should stop eating so much.” Now i couldn’t tell if she was joking or not, so this is all i say to her… my baby is pretty big AH! (which he is alhumdulillah! and walk away.
This girl has two young boys her self, and like i said, i barely know her. I am pretty sure she was joking but to me it wasn’t funny. I know I look much bigger thn any other 6 month pregnant lady, but the truth is I have only gained 6-7 lbs this pregnancy thus far and I am very proud of that. Her comment about stop eating, is the worse thing to say to a pregnant lady. Why would you say that???
Totally agree! I get the opposite comments, that I look too weak and thin for a pregnant lady and I need to eat more!it's really annoying
I got that in the beginning when i didn't get weight at all (i dont really get sick during pregnancy AH!). And aunt decided to tell me that my baby is going to be weak because i wasn't eating a lot (junk food,) and wasn't gaining either.
But AH i have enough knowledge to know that my weight gain has going to do with the baby's.
Same happened to me in my ninth month, when I was close to due date
Yeah it is ANNOYING
And even the only food I could eat in last minths was daal chaawal roti sabzi only
^ that's what i am talking about. Hopefully people who are reading this will not make the horrible mistake and point out the weight issue to a pregnant lady. That's the last thing we need.
I totally understand. I am petite, just hit 11 weeks and already have a slightly noticeable belly! It is probably bloating but you can still tell if I don't wear loose tops. I am not even eating so much, there is not much of a weight gain overall. Totally know what you mean when you are struggling with pregnancy issues and trying to cope with life, the last thing you want to hear is an insensitive comment like that.
