As u already know there’s new rule in ODIs that there should be 2nd ball used in an inning around when middle-order to lower-order batting, who dont have experince with new ball. I dont know why ICC rules maker made this rule.

I cant use good words so would like to hear ur suggestions.

PS: dont hesitate so say khulam-khula :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Comments: 2nd New ball rule

well i dont think we should change the ball in an innings unless its damaged, but the ICC have made a good decision...

-ball used to be changed anyways, but it was not consistent, lot of whining from players, debating about to change or not to change and when to change etc

-the white ball has limitations, it gets dirty and loses its white color making it harder to spot the ball for the batsmen (one of the reasons why batsmen used to ask/whine for changing ball) --- so unless the ball is manufactured so that it doesnt lose its white color, the rule should stick to allow consistency

but when they come up with a way to manufacture so that it doesnt lose its color, ICC should scrap the rule (i believe they are working on this)

edit - and i believe its not a new new ball, its a ball that is slightly old that still has its white color but newer that the ball being replaced...

Re: Comments: 2nd New ball rule

yaar jana lewaa that cannot ever be used as an excuse.

The bottom line is you should not as an international team be needing more than your 6-7 batsmen +/- all-rounder to play the full 50 overs.

The ball is changed for a reason. The shine goes, the colour goes and the scuff marks make it very difficult for the batsmen to see the ball.

But what the ICC perhaps should do is allow the use of a 20-over or so used ball as the second new ball but then it will open a Pandora's box with teams levelling bias allegations and debating whether the ball was actually 20 overs old or newer!

Re: Comments: 2nd New ball rule

pigbull 2nd ball is brand new ball, if u watched the yesterday's match u've seen how SA bowloers were doin outswings, which is very natural and easy with new ball.

Golden Asif m not saying this is an excuse for PAK loosing yesterday match but i m saying ICC stupid rules are difficult to digest so fast, we have to get used to it. Both teams had trouble while playin with second new ball. AS you saying team need 6-7 batsmen for full sixty overs, eventhough players around that time are middkle order batsmen they also not familiar with new ball that much

Re: Comments: 2nd New ball rule

^ mind you our openers even don't know how to play the new ball...
