As if the workings and in house happenings in our 5 assemblies were often not beyond ridiculous already. The old walkouts, screamings, foul language, chair throwing and collar grabbings have long been normal occurences.
Now the Sindh assembly has stepped in to a new arena, setting an example which 5 others could soon follow at will
Shazia Marri a PPP MPA, who’s married and has kids, and hosts a talkshow on Indus Vision, has been the object of affetion of a colleague and yesterday that colleague, minority MPA Ishwar Lal of PML sent her an *indecent *note during session through a peon. Shazia forwarded it around for all to read, and eventually her mates came to her rescue and beat up the romantic MPA who as Shazia says, has been after her for a year! :omg:
i watched it on GEO last night, bunch of loosers, apparently Ish lal sent a note to Shazia " Kaisi hein aap?"
sad now our assemblies has become dating and poondi points now. with new women members, its bound to happen but this kind of teen age behavior doesnt suit a member of assemblies.
on top of that the mates actually has beaten this guy on assembly floor.
This one is $tupid enough, however a $tupider action was taken in Sarhad assembly when a "fat fat fatiha" was offered for none other than Sar-Khawi (cannibal head hunter) zarqawi.
Now here is a looser terrorist who got sent to hell on a 500 lb bomb, and our provincial assembly wants to offer fatiha-hah-ha.
Our politikos are so funny. Then we want military to go back to barracks. Well if that happens, this is what we are going to get in national assembly as well: love notes, Phanty (brawl) for the sender of the note, and the big jokes related to cannibals.
Meanwhile i think the reaction to it was too violent, i think everyone involved should be suspended for ridiculing the house. Even Shazzia, for highlighting it as “obscene”, while apparently all it read was *“aap kaise hain?” *
Such rude behavior is really bad especially from a minority member... Minorities are in Pak at our reham in Pakistan. A fatwa must be issued in his name.
Classically powerless assemblies tend to degenerate..much the same happened in the 1950s and in the early 1990's as it became more obvious real power was in GHQ.
Five Sindh lawmakers to face the music for beating up colleague
In consultation with the Sindh Assembly speaker, the Karachi police have registered a criminal case against five provincial lawmakers — including opposition leader Nisar Khuhro, official sources have said. “A criminal case (FIR 396/2006) has been registered against five members of the Sindh Assembly on the complaint of Pakistan Muslim League legislator Ishwar Lal, who had been roughed up on the assembly premises on June 21 when he delivered a ‘chit’ to a female colleague,” the sources said. “The lawmakers — Murad Ali Shah, Haji Munawwar Abbasi, Muhammad Nawaz Chandio and Dr Saleem Hingoro — have been nominated for a murder attempt while Nisar Khuhro has been accused of instigating an attack on the complainant,” the sources added. After registering the case, the police sent a copy of the case to the Sindh Assembly speaker with remarks in the column of police proceedings: “The case has been registered in consultation with the speaker Sindh Assembly.”
The Sindh Assembly witnessed an ugly situation on June 21 when a few members from the opposition benches roughed up Ishwar Lal, a lawmaker of the treasury benches. All the MPAs and media persons present in the assembly were stunned to see some opposition members thrashing Ishwar Lal, who was screaming for help. The scuffle lasted for quite sometime and finally some members from the treasury benches came to Ishwar Lal’s rescue. In the meantime, Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, who was presiding over the proceedings, adjourned the house for prayers. After the adjournment of the first session, Ishwar Lal left the house and disappeared. Later, the opposition members lodged a protest with Speaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah against the act of the ruling party legislator. Dr Magsi had told reporters that he did not know about the actual reason of the scuffle in the house and said he had seen that some of the opposition members, including Nawaz Chandio, Nawab Wassan and Murad Ali Shah, physically assaulting Ishwar Lal in the house. Later, three provincial ministers - Irfanullah Marwat, Nadir Akmal Leghari and Dr Saeeda Malik - visited the office of the opposition leader and discussed the issue. However, the opposition leader refused to compromise on the issue and told the ministers that his members demanded suspension of Ishwar Lal’s assembly membership to make amend for his act. The ministers later informed the speaker about the outcome of their talks with the opposition leader. They also briefed Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim at the Chief Minister’s house on the incident and the chief minister directed the treasury benches not to succumb to any pressure and take action against the opposition members for violating the rules and manhandling the ruling party legislator.
