This thread calls all those guppies who have never posted a recipe or talked about what they cook. I don’t believe for a second that you guys (specially men) have never ever cooked anything. All of us at one time or another (even those of u living with families) had to cook for survival.
So, please come out of the pantry and tell us what you cooked, how you cooked it, why did you cook it and what was the outcome.
I am gonna list some guppies here who I don’t remember seeing often in this forum. I apologiz if I missed your name but if you fall in the category I described above then please feel free to post…
FG,

Hey I’ve actually posted recipes in the past, mostly deserts like apple crumble, apple stroodle, pasta in white sauce, lasagne. That’s all my mummy allows me to cook when I’m at home. I guess parathey and roti don’t count!
My chinese stir fry is a killer - I love it
secret ingredients (lots of good quality soya sauce, ginger, garlic, honey, thai sweet n sour sauce, dash of mayonnaise at the end and chinese egg noodles)
waqee? lol but everyone has their own way of making stirfry!
Okay, get a nice mix of veggies - baby corn, baby marrow (great for stirfry), mushrooms, green pepper, carrots, cabbage, onions. Chop them all lengthwise.
In a wok, plonk in your chicken cut in small pieces. Stirfry with salt, freshly ground pepper, ginger, garlic, soya sauce. Try to use as little oil as possible. (I hate oily stirfry) You can add the onions at this stage as well, and cook a bit with the chicken.
When the chicken is cooked, add the veggies except for the mushrooms. Add more soya sauce (light and dark), sweet and sour sauce, chilli sauce, salt, pepper, chopped green chillis, honey if you dont have sweet and sour sauce. Tabasco sauce and worcestshire sauce are also good options instead of chilli sauce.
Now the veggies have to retain their colour, so keep mixing and DONT let them overcook. About 5 minutes before theyre almost done, add the mushrooms. I like my mushrooms to also retain their shape.
Your stirfry should still look fresh and colourful!
Add the chinese egg noodles (boiled) to the stirfry and mix. Add more sauces if you need to. Add a teaspoon of mayonnaise and mix it up. Et voila!
