Combating my hunger

Re: Combating my hunger

woah woah woah- you guys can't not eat the entire day- you are not getting the nutrients you need if you do that- and taking a multivitamin is not a substitute for getting nutrients from food- multivitamins are supplements- meaning that they are supplemental, or in addition to the nutrients (i.e. vitamins) that you need to get from your food. the best way to keep your calorie intake at a healthy level to maintain or lose weight is to eat plenty of proteins and fiber- these molecules are complex and take longer for the body to break down- so that means they stay in your system longer and keep you full for longer. also drink plenty of water and fill up on fruits and veggies- i studied nutrition in college :)

Re: Combating my hunger

I'm starting to believe it as well, I'm always being told to eat 5 small meals a day...and that's just not possible for me, esp when on most days I'm not home. It may be "easier" to follow that diet if I'm home all day long but cmon...I don't want to be home all day just for a diet! Anywyas so I try to eat breakfast but I find I end up overeating throughout the day..:(

Re: Combating my hunger

Your eating food as you normally eating but less and less often. of course you will feel hungry. you should eat more low calorie foods such as a plate of vegetables. a plate full of vegetables will be 100 calories the same as the your 3 bread sticks, but your stomach will be full and so you wont feel hungy. you can add flavouring to the vegatables there are many good recipes, after a while you will start to enjoy eating them.

Do some research on what 200 calories of different food looks like : What Does 200 Calories Look like?

You will see your eating the foods that take up less volume, ie size. Eat food with most volume.

When people say "meal" they don't mean desi meal lol. Just snacks or something every 2-3 hours to keep your metabolism going.

Try eating almonds. They are excellent for stopping hunger cravings. You can also drink a lot of water. And drink milk with your meals, it's great for protein and fills you up as well.

If you get hungry at night, eat cottage cheese (if you don't mind the taste). It's slow releasing protein. Just make sure to get the kind that is not super heavy on sodium.
