Are we supposed to wear certain colours in certain seasons?
I know people usually associate rustic and mustard colour with autumn and pastel colours with summer…and may be bright celebration colors like dark green and red with Winter…so what’s for Spring then?
Bright turquoise, navy blue, red, dark pink, dark coral, bright yellows - these are some of the brights. Paler versions of these colours are for the Spring. Mind you, there’s always a “COLOUR” of the season - one that dominates to help the fashion houses remain current. And these days, a lot of colours can transition into other seasons as well.
Here’s what one website calls the colours of summer 2012:
Stuff like navy, bottle green and dark red I would associate with the winter colours - or even greys maybe.
Navy and red are both nautical colours and are definitely worked into summer colours. Bottle green I agree is definitely fall/winter. But again, all of these colours can be worn in other seasons, just in the right shade and fabric and cut.
I’m not a huge fan of wearing only certain colors for a season. Especially in winter - it is dull enough anyways, why add to the misery by wearing greys
I think its the overall combination of colors that matters. You cannot be completely floral in the dead of winter. But a splash of color or touches of what you like are not bad at all.
