Ive never heard such a claim before in my life. I live in the UK and opticians here never stop patients from wearing coloured contacts. I myself wore coloured contacts for 3 years continuously and my eyes are still fine. Unless the ones in pakistan have something wrong with them like milaawat of some sort. =S
acutally, some optometrists who are willing to not toe the coporate line and have the balls, will tell you that contact lenses aren't the best thing for your eyes and one should minimise wear time if they are going to wear them at all. this goes for sight lenses.
and yes, coloured are worse for the eyes.
in my experience, optometrists will only say this if they have started to notice signs of damage in the eyes.
I had enough with lenses. I used to wear coloured contact lenses but i stopped wearing them last year, not because they are "dangerous" as some people claim here but because the problem with any type of lenses is that you can't wear them for more than 8 hrs (i think it's either 8 or 10hrs, can't remember). That's exactly what i hate.
actually my eyeside is weak so i wear coloured lenses with eyesight no....
he just asks me not to wear coloured ones with eyesight no..
even he said girls not having weak eyesight and they wear coloured ones just for fashion ,just to change their eyeball colour they should stop wearing coloured ones tooo..they are extremly harmull that they have no idea...
plus he said i can comfortably wear transparent eyesight lenses ...no harm in it
transparent ones are safe....
