Colour concept

Why do we have certain colours for girls and certain for boys.Who started this concept?when did it start?Why did it start?
Like pink for girls…and blue for boys…
Today While at the beach I saw a lil boy(5 yrsold) riding a pink cycle and it looked so out of place:bummer: Why is it so?

Same with teh enwborns…its usually blue wrapped stuff for boys and pink wrapped for girls Why?

Who says pink is for girls, i know more than a few guys (adults) who use Pink and take pride in that
