Re: colour change in ready made shewani

Is it a sherwani or a kurta pajama?

I don't think you should dye it, personally. I would get something new.

Re: colour change in ready made shewani

I don't think that a ready-made outfit can be re-dyed. Can you contact the shop where you purchased it from? If you can, ask them.

If your sister is flying out then she can purchase a pretty inexpensive sherwani kurta from Pakistan. It won't be a regular sherwani but would be festive enough for a shaadi or eid.

Re: colour change in ready made shewani

turquoise, hmmm yeah try dying it for a darker colour, it should be fine.

Re: colour change in ready made shewani

any outfit with kaam on it cannot be dyed because the heating part in the dying process will melt the kaam.
anything stitched but without kaam can get dyed, provided ofcourse that the fabric will take the colour.

thanx girls suppose i hav to spend another £100 on his outfit now!

Re: colour change in ready made shewani

Can't you add something turquoise to your outfit (like a patti at the daman or simple pipping) and let him wear the sherwani? :)

not really as my outfit is being made and is has a gold bodice with red kameez and full embroidery all over it..i did think that tho but it wont go so well..mmm..any other suggestions??? help??

Re: colour change in ready made shewani

Hmm… you don’t have to be matchy matchy. If you like the look of this following pic, you can reverse the colours in your mind and see whether the overall look goes well together:

thanx 4 reply...ill c wat happens..its doin my head!!!
