I must say, I was in Karachi during Basant and I found it highly annoying that all the good darzis took off to Lahore to celebrate Eid and Basant. 
I think they did a Basant celebrity show in Karachi too, combined with the Expo that was taking place cause there was crazy traffic, blocked roads, etc. cause of the Basant show/Expo.

My husband use to do that when he live's in Pakistan and when it was basant he buy lots of kites with his friends.

After mid nite, drizling started and lasted for an hour or so …

waisey its just a one night or day enjoyement for which u guys spend thousands ..u can enjoy by just sitting around the fireplace ..reading a romantic novel..drinking a large mug of coffee…this is wat i did on basant!
we dint even see kites in the sky..and it felt good..islo walas are quite busy in other important stuff then kite flyingmasoom
btw..colourful pictures and ofcourse the food looks good!
